Why WebP → JPG
When something won't accept WebP, JPG is the safe, universal photo format. Transparent areas are filled with white.
WebP files downloaded from the web often can't be opened in older editors, uploaded to certain marketplaces, or sent to a print service. JPG is the lowest-common-denominator photo format that works literally everywhere. Converting is instant and keeps the photo looking the same; just remember that any transparency becomes a solid background, since JPEG can't store an alpha channel.
Tip — For photos, quality 85 gives a small file that looks identical to the original — adjust and watch the live size preview.
